In the course of daily life we run into a lot of problems.  Tests that we fail, friend drama, bullying, and even sibling rivalry can all create pretty high levels of stress.  But, what happens when that stress becomes more than just a frustration.  What happens when it lasts longer, becomes more painful, and occurs more frequently?

May Youth Night: Holy or Hypocrite

Our Youth Night for May returns to our regular 2nd Saturday of the month. We are going to be diving into a very controversial topic when we discuss try to answer one basic question: “How can the Church be holy if it is made up of so many hypocritical and intolerant people?” We will look for instances of that judgment and intolerance. Also, we will look at how to live a life of virtue so that we don’t inadvertently go down that path ourselves!

March Youth Night: Do You Trust Me?

If we are to truly live out our call to care for others, we must make one consistent choice to recognize the inherent dignity of all people.  We must treat all people, no matter the circumstance, as people. This Saturday night we conclude our "One" series with an evening titled, "One Heart."  We will start off with a competitive twist and have you join us in playing our own brand of the gameshow "The Price is Right!"

Faith on Fire: Kitchen Edition

The Sabbath (aka Sunday) is an awesome holy day where God has called us to rest, grow closer to Him, and spend time with friends and family.  And if you really want to make the sabbath holy, you need to do a few  things:

  1. Get to Mass
  2. Rest
  3. Spend time with loved ones
  4. Eat an Omelette.

Ok, that last one will be hard to prove biblically.  BUT, we still think it's a good idea.  SO, how about you join us at the Ciarrocchi's after 9:30 Mass for a "Faith on Fire: Sunday Kitchen Edition."

July Youth Night: Shattering Night + Senior Night!

  • Church of the Holy Family Parish House (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Sometimes it's tough to hear about God.  In Youth Group, or Mass or even scripture, we hear about a God who supposedly reveals Himself to us.  But sometimes it can be really difficult to know where to look, what He sounds like, or even to believe He is there at all.

Join us on Saturday, July 8th at the COHF Parish House as we continue our Summer of Spirit with our July Youth Night: Shattering Night.  Whether you are deep in the Spirit right now, or struggling to find Him this night will help you find new and unique ways of shattering through the night to see the Light of the Spirit.

AND, as a special bonus, we celebrate and send off the Class of 2017.  So make sure you spread the word to seniors that you are looking forward to seeing them and wishing them well in the next chapter on their journeys.

As always, PLEASE RSVP below so we will be able to have enough food for you.

May Youth Night: 13 Reasons Why Not

The topic of life, suicide and how to discuss the topic is receiving a great deal of attention recently as a result of the popular Netflix series, 13 Reasons Why.  And, that makes a lot of sense.  The series has caused both great controversy and interest as teens and adults alike try to figure out the best way to discuss the topic openly, honestly, and with an attempt to bring healing.

One of the things we have promised as a youth ministry is to be open, honest, and present to our teen community.  That's why we've decided to give you a perspective on this series and the topics it discusses that perhaps you haven't heard before.  So join us on Saturday night after 5:00 Mass for a very real conversation about the topic of life, death, and how to deal with those most difficult moments in our lives and and others as well.

Please be sure to bring a snack to share and sign up below so we have enough pizza and drinks for everyone.  We look forward to seeing you for this very special night.

April Youth Night: Disrupted

April Youth Night: Disrupted

Pretty much all of the paintings, images, and sculptures of Jesus show Him as a pretty chill guy praying, healing, or holding us.  And that was certainly a part of His ministry.

The reality, however, is that the heart of Christ and His message was pretty disrupting.  Speaking love and truth, He disrupted the institutions of the day.  He disrupted the conventional ways of thinking about God.  Still today, He challenges us to disrupt our own lives to make room for Him.

Join us Saturday night in the basement of Church as we get a little disruptive and also celebrate the first youth group back from retreat.  Please sign up using the RSVP form below so we will be sure to have enough food.  Because of the celebration of Palm Sunday, we will not be downstairs until around 6:30.  So come and join us for Mass and get focused for the MOST important week in the Church calendar.

OH...and be ready: we're going to be playing human Hungry Hungry Hippos

What Happens When I Fail

  • Church of the Holy Family Parish House (map)

At youth group, we talk a lot about triumph.  Good over evil; Virtue over sin; God over satan. Yet sometimes, in our excitement to celebrate our faith, we sometimes forget that the same God who is Lord in our triumphs is the same Lord when we fail.

Red Zone Green Zone 2017: The BacheLURE

We are all drawn to the idea of a Happily Ever After written just for me.  It’s no surprise that God wants the same for us.  But sometimes, instead of letting God light that path toward true love we decide to go down our own path.  Whether it’s The Bachelor, Celebrity instragrams, or even fairy tales, we decide that these examples of love are the ones to chase after.
